Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. In addition to his role in the drama series that was released globally as The Killing, he subsequently played in two other internationally well-known Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a prominent role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV show House of Cards, he played the president of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his part on the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the title Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German and Danish as well as his native language. He also has picked up various accents. According to Mikkelsen's account that he and his younger brother learned English by studying Monty Python records.
